As the city awoke, the web of intrigue spun in the shadows of The Crow's Nest seemed to tighten around Thomson and Ricky. With the rising sun as their witness, they returned to the office, the morning's revelations hanging between them like a storm cloud.

Thomson: "Write up everything you heard, every last detail. We're missing something; the picture's incomplete."

Ricky's fingers flew over the keys, the click-clack of the typewriter punctuating the tense silence of the room. Thomson paced like a caged animal, his mind racing through the labyrinth of leads and lies.

Thomson: "They said 'the child is the key.' My child is the key. But to what?"

The walls of Thomson's office, once a testament to his triumphs, now seemed to mock him with the unsolved riddle of his own blood. It was a puzzle that had consumed him for over ten years, a wound that never healed.

A sudden clatter of the mailbox signaled the arrival of an unexpected piece of the puzzle. A package, nondescript and innocuously wrapped, lay in the entrance. Thomson approached, his instincts on high alert.

Ricky: "Be careful, it could be anything."

Thomson nodded, slicing the package open with a practiced hand. Inside, a jumble of items: a child's drawing, a small toy car, and a cryptic note. The drawing depicted a family, three figures holding hands under a bright sun. The innocence of the artwork was a stark contrast to the cold reality they faced.

Thomson (reading the note): "'Follow the child's gaze, and you'll find what you seek.'"

The words were a riddle, and Thomson felt a surge of adrenaline. The child's gaze — in the drawing, the smallest figure was looking up, towards the sun, towards a scribbled shape that seemed out of place in the childlike scene.

Ricky: "What does it mean? What are we supposed to find?"

Thomson: "It's not just what. It's where. This isn't just a drawing; it's a map."

The episode closes with Thomson and Ricky pouring over the drawing, the toy car, and the note, searching for the meaning hidden within. The sun's shape in the drawing was a clue, and the shape beside it, a landmark — a building known to Thomson, one he had passed countless times without a second glance.

To be continued...

What does the child's drawing represent, and what will it reveal about Thomson's lost child? How does this new clue fit into the larger mystery of the murder case?

Look forward to Episode 7, where each piece of the puzzle draws Thomson closer to the truth, and the hunter must confront the possibility that the answers he seeks may change everything he knows.
