It took me quite some time to see the need to set a goal for myself here on hive or even anywhere but then during my time as a newbie part of the newbies initiative initiated by @starstrings01, I was able to see reasons why I need to just set goals for myself and since then it has been growth upon growth. There has never been a time in my hive journey that I felt like I was going backwards, it has always been forward ever.
If I can remember correctly, I had just a little above 100 hive power when I started the newbies initiative two years ago and I remember finishing the program with over 1k hive power which was a great improvement. Well it didn’t just happen, it took me months of determination to be able to achieve such a milestone and of course the great support I got from almost everyone especially from the initiative. Seeing how much I was able to achieve in less than a year, I became more determined to keep setting goals for myself and working towards achieving them.
So far, my major hive goal is publishing at least one post a day. I know someone is wondering why that is my main focus. Well, it’s simple! As a hive user that have grown to believe so much in what hive has to offer to anyone, I’ve come to understand that the best way to grow here is through accumulating more hive power and I’ve decided to make at least one post everyday because by so doing, I keep accumulating more hive power and also giving my followers a sip of what this writer has to offer thereby sustaining my audience too.
So far, I started this year with a little above 4k hive power but now I have over 5k hive power and that is a tremendous improvement and it was all possible thanks to God for giving me the strength to make at least a post everyday of the week. So far I’ve been quite consistent but two days ago I lost that streak but then I’m still determined to keep trying to make at least one post daily because I have seen how much it has helped me grow in the past few months.
I know of a lot of people that see daily posting as trying to farm rewards or something but hey let me tell you something. Hive is a social platform and one way to make it function perfectly is by having more daily users. Writing quality content’s daily helps to increase hive’s visibility and also it helps you give back to the platform not even up to half of what you have benefitted.
Well, it’s fine to post thrice in a week too just to make sure you keep the quality of your writhing but then it’s good to see and appreciate those who make contents daily and still don’t loss that touch of quality. They don’t only help themselves grow but others as well because the more their hive power grows, the more support they can give back to the blockchain (other users).
Wait! I think I have deviated too much from my hive goals, I’m explaining too much, hehe. Well I think someone needs to see that so I’m happy I could put it out anyways. My hive goal is to give back to hive as much as I can because since I got to know of the Hive blockchain my life has changed for the best. Posting daily to get those rewards daily is my way of surviving and also giving back to the blockchain.
Circumstances might make it hard for me to achieve my daily posting goal but trust me, giving up is not an option because I believe I can do all things because I’ve got someone behind me (yes! God). I’d keep writing and also make sure to keep improving on it so it wouldn’t be seen as a low effort content and hopefully I can get a good support to grow organically. My goal is a realistic one and it has a time frame of a year. The plan is to always enter for different contests and prompts to help me in this quest so I don’t run out of ideas.
