This is approximately how the title of AthanĂ gia's new album, 'El desig d'esfondrar murs', can be translated. Some may consider it somewhat forceful for the Second Advent. However, upon closer examination, it becomes evident that it is merely a wish. Consequently, there is no cause for concern regarding tangible action. This is also immediately apparent when the headphones are worn and the exceptional music begins to play.
So in etwa lässt er sich übersetzen, der Titel des neuen Albums von Athanà gia »El desig d'esfondrar murs«. Man könnte vielleicht meinen, es sei ein Hauch zu brachial für den 2. Advent. Aber, bei genauerer Betrachtung stellt man ja schnell fest, dass es sich „nur“ um einen Wusch handelt. Wirkliche Aktionen sind somit eher nicht zu befürchten. Dies bestätigt sich auch sofort, wenn die Kopfhörer auf den Ohren weilen und die wunderbare Musik erklingt.
I am not alone in my opinion that this album is a very special and valuable addition for any music collection. Music critic Jacek Brun had the following to say: 'This album is diverse yet unified, with a high degree of integration of all elements – each song is a masterpiece in form, arrangement and sound, and the fantastic voices of the guest vocalists round it all off. AthanĂ gia characterises El desig d'esfondrar murs as a concept album. Such albums are defined by the fact that the individual tracks are not isolated from each other, but must be considered as a complete work in which there is a thematic relationship from beginning to end. In this case, the journey begins at the beginning of the universe and progresses through different musical environments, culminating in the projection of the smallness of man in front of the great space that surrounds him. The album ends with a theme that leads to renewal and attempts to find a better future.
Athanà gia bezeichnen "El desig d'esfondrar murs" als ein Konzeptalbum. Solche Alben zeichnen sich dadurch aus, dass die einzelnen Titel nicht voneinander isoliert sind, sondern als Gesamtwerk zu betrachten ist, bei dem vom Beginn bis zum Schluss eine thematische Beziehung besteht.In diesem Fall ist es eine Reise vom Anfang des Universums durch verschiedene musikalische Umgebungen bis zum Höhepunkt der Projektion der Kleinheit des Menschen vor dem großen Raum, der ihn umgibt. Das Album endet mit einem Thema, das zur Erneuerung führt und versucht, eine bessere Zukunft zu finden.
The band's standard line-up comprises Arcadi Minguet, who plays the handpan, and Lluc Casals, who plays the guitar. The two also assumed the role of producers for the album. They were joined in the studio by Marti Alcon, who contributed his bass, and Lluis Alcon, who played the drums. Andrea Motis and Anna Puig were invited to the studio to provide vocals. Cristina Español, Jana Boetti, PatrĂcia ExpĂłsito, Alba CaufapĂ© and Jan Dolcet were engaged to provide additional orchestral volume on piano, violin, viola and cello, respectively.
Zur Standartbesetzung der Band gehören Arcadi Minguet, der die Handpan bearbeitet, während Lluc Casals die Gitarre zum Klingen bringt. Diese Beiden haben auch das Album produziert. Mit ins Studio kamen dann auch noch Marti Alcon mit seinem Bass und Lluis Alcon, der seinen Platz hinter dem Schlagzeug einnahm. FĂĽr den stimmlichen Part, bat man Andrea Motis und Anna Puig ins Studio. FĂĽr mehr orchestrales Volumen sorgen Cristina Español am Piano, Jana Boetti und PatrĂcia ExpĂłsito mit den Violinen, Alba CaufapĂ© mit Bratsche, sowie Jan Dolcet mit dem Cello.

The use of synthesizers and drum machines was combined with the sound of handpan, guitar, piano, bass and drums.
