As the title implies, I built my own personal jungle gym!
I’ve gone up and down in weight over the years and, to be honest, I haven’t used this setup in over a year - actually I was very surprised that I could still do 10 pull-ups, but I wanted to get some footage on the setup before I let it go forever.
I screwed coil springs onto this tree. Climbing is a bit precarious now, but it was far worse when I was building it, because I didn’t use any special equipment like straps or ladders. Back then I was in far better shape. I screwed the first one on from the ground, then climbed onto it, hooked the lag bolt onto the impact gun/bit, put it through the coil spring mount and zipped it down one-handed…then add the rest of the lag bolts, climbed down to get the next set, and climbed back up one step higher and repeated. There’s no way I could do that in the shape I’m in currently.
This gif was a little cooler when it was all in one piece, but no matter how I tried I couldn’t get the file size small enough to upload. Either way, since I’m leaving this all this behind, it will be nice to have a record of having once had it…but I should have worn a shirt - my shape isn’t terribly flattering these days 🤣
At the end of the course I have a rope that goes across and hangs down. The rappelling rope was always a bit precarious, but at that point you’re not all that high up, so whatever.
Anyway, this short little course at one point had me in great shape. I’d just cycle through, doing 10 pull-ups, climbing all the way up, half way down, going across the rope and down the short rappel - this was a super fun way to stay in shape!
Thanks for checking out some more of my work! As always, I hope you enjoyed witnessing as much as I enjoyed creating!
