To be honest, I never noticed the shadows in Days Gone even after playing this game for quite some long time. Now that I noticed this Shadow Hunting contest of @gamingphoto, I played Days Gone for some times just to get some shadows.
When the game started, I was about to take a good screenshot with a shadow but at that exact moment, the sun started leaving me and it set so fast. I was wandering how awesome it was that even the sun set in the game and that looks exactly like the real world.
Night was not the best time to take shadows in this game so I had to wait till morning. I started killing zombies around to pass times but it seemed like it was a big night so I went to the Nero checkpoint closed to me and I let Deacon sleep there in a secured room and he was awake when it was dawn.
I started hunting shadows and this was my first hunt. This hunt includes me riding the bike as you can see.
Then I stopped the bike and took out the axe to get cool shadow shots of me holding the axe.
And this one is one of my favorites. I pressed the mouse button which gave Deacon permission to hit anything in front of him and I hunted this shadow at that exact moment.
And now I took out my rifle to get this cool shadow shot of me aiming the rifle.
After taking those photos, I was not getting any more cool shadows so I started riding my bike towards the Land of the Volcanoes.
There I was noticing danger close by so I thought there might be a zombie and I wanted to take a shadow shot of the zombie but it was not a normal zombie but this special kid zombie that jumped on me out of nowhere.
I pressed the photo mode at once and I started to look for the best angle to hunt this shadow. What do you think of this shadow?
Then I was going inside the Belknap Ambush Camp to lure a zombie horde out so I could hunt a shadow of the horde, how cool the idea was! LOL.
I've found these shadows like something was flying towards me. Can you guess what this might be?
Yeah, you guessed right. The corpses hanging there under the bridge gave the above shadows but I wander why there's only two shadows as there were six bodies hanging there.
After luring the horde, I got this zombie out and I started playing with it and you can see the shadow of this zombie when it was trying to get to me.
Then I stopped the bike and started stabbing it with my small knife and I see this shadow hunt is also cool.
And I let the zombie bite me so I can get a special shadow. Luckily Deacon didn't turn.
This is my finishing stab on that same zombie which gave me this cool shadow.
I was leaving that place and this another zombie started running after me and I got this shadow.
I noticed this body before but didn't notice the shadow before but now I did. The peoples of the ambush camp did this to that man and hanged him there writing "Turn back or DIE" on the rocks and you see there's this fantastic shadow.
I was going my way towards the place where I started to hunt the shadows from, near the Nero checkpoint and suddenly I noticed these Deer running to escape from some zombies who were trying to get them. I managed to open the photo mode and capture these shadows but after I was finished it, one deer fell under my bike and died.
And that's all I wished to talk about in this post. Stay tuned so you don't miss what I'll show later in this Gaming Photography community.
