Greetings to all the friendly and skillful people in this vegan community. It's a great honor and privilege to be one of the members here. My salute and warmest congratulations to the one who created this. Vegan lovers were given the best spot to share their best recipes so that readers will benefit from this. After my husband's hospitalization and diagnosis of so many complications, I realized how valuable VEGANS are to the lives of humans. His condition motivated me to prepare almost every dinner with vegan recipes and fruits.
Today's blog is my entry for this week's topic, My Veggie Shopping: Pepper. Thanks to this talented, creative, and generous woman @sirenahippie. She always provides an interesting topic every week. Thus this will guide us in our weekly content creation.
Peppers are spices added to a dish to enhance the taste, flavor, and aroma. It also provides nutrients and medicinal purposes and is added to sauces. Some varieties of peppers were also used as the main ingredients in a dish. It's easy to grow peppers in a tropical country like Phillippines. So, we can produce pepper by simply planting it in our backyard. In our school gardening project, pepper in various varieties is one vegetable we have grown.
As a mother and a wife, it is one of our roles to prepare food for the family. Last Saturday after casting my vote in the election of the board of directors of CEBECO 2 in our municipality, I rushed to Bogo City for an important appointment. After complying with all the tasks to be done I went to Gaisano Bogo to market necessary commodities needed at home, especially for food preparation. Of course buying spices is always on my market list. One of these spices is Pepper. Pepper is one of my favorite food condiments or spices added to food preparation. So I bought pepper. There were three varieties sold in vegetable sections but I choose the bell pepper. I choose two packs of pepper. Each pack has prices already. One pack cost 24.60 PHP and the other pack cost 22.80 PHP. I chose carefully the packed pepper. I made sure that these packs do not contain rotten ones and that all were shiny and fully mature.
If pepper is in season, we need to preserve this for future consumption. There were several ways to preserve pepper. One is by blanching then freezing by pickling, fermenting, and roasting, and putting it in a closed container.
That's all for this blog.Thank you for your time and support.God bless us all.
