It is true what many people say. Shopping is an activity that can be exciting. We can forget for a moment about our problems. Also, we can have fun with what we want to buy.
For me, veggie shopping is the most fun. To be honest, I suck at shopping for fashion stuff. I am bad at choosing women's clothes or handbags. But, the good news for me and my family, I really love to shop for veggies. Of course, it keeps our family alive.
This week, I participated in the VEGGIE SHOPPING CITRUS FRUITS contest. To be honest, I will also always be shopping for citrus fruits apart from contest times from this Plant Power Community. Because of what? Because for me, the world of citrus is the type of fruit that makes my day. There will be a strange taste without citrus fruits.
Starting from lemon tea, or making smoothies with some of the lemon juice, too, I like to make fresh citrus fruit as a snack without anything added. So, for me citrus fruits are a world of joy that makes my day.
Berastagi Supermarket
I was accompanied by my husband to go to a supermarket in another city. We took the car to get there. The reason I chose to shop at Berastagi Supermarket is because the market offers complete grocery needs. Including imported fruits that I can't get at the market in the area where I live.
This is my first time visiting this place. My first impression was that I was quite surprised because I felt that Berastagi Supermarket was the biggest grocery store I'd ever been to. Oh, cool!
I feel that Berastagi Supermarket is the most complete place. The ingredients I've been looking for are also here. I felt confused to adjust my needs with the money I brought. I also don't want to go overboard in buying ingredients because they can't be fresh forever.
Buying wisely is a must. I'm one of those people who think long and hard about it. While picking out the things I want to buy, I also think about other things and whether I should buy them or not.
Time For Citrus Fruits
Due to the challenges in the Plant Power Community, I immediately looked for a fruit display area. Orange fruit is one of my favorite fruit. So, I always prioritize looking for oranges when shopping somewhere.
I was happy when at Berastagi Supermarket, the orange display was near the entrance. Yay! Excited, I chose an orange. There are lots of types of orange fruit in Berastagi Supermarket. I was confused about what kind of orange I would buy.
I decided to buy a type of orange fruit brand that I had never bought before. The type of "wokam" orange fruit that is packaged in an attractive container and looks luxurious. Also, perfect for gifts. Apparently, this type of orange is also cheaper than the price at the supermarket in my city. I bought the wokam oranges for 39,000 idr / 2.85 $ usd per pack containing 6 oranges.
There are many types of oranges available. Also, of course, the local oranges, and Sunkist oranges. I often buy Sunkist oranges too.
I saw the section on the “Sunkist navel” citrus fruit display. Apparently not so much stock that looks good. I think it's a season issue. It's been a few weeks since I haven't seen a good Sunkist orange in my local supermarket here Berastagi Supermarket.
I'm having a hard time choosing a good sunkist orange. I spent quite a long time at this sunkist orange spot. So, I just bought two sunkist oranges.
Besides the types of oranges above, I also bought several lemons, and small types of oranges.
Of the various oranges I bought, my favorites were the smallest oranges called "shantang" and also the "wokam" oranges which I bought in packs of 6 as I have described above. Also, if there is a good “Sunkist navel” in stock, I will include “Sunkist navel” in my favorite type of orange.
After selecting citrus fruits which were quite time-consuming but made me happy, I finally pushed my shopping cart. Pretty much. Because I'm shopping in a remote area, so I have to shop for other needs to save my time.
The payment process at the cashier also requires me to queue. It feels really tiring shopping at Berastagi Supermarket this time. But the most important thing is that I can get new experiences and see a lot of ingredients that I have never seen before. I will come back to this place Berastagi Supermarket next time.
