I must confess that it annoys me a bit when some say "this place is so beautiful that it doesn't look like Argentina". Yes people, this and many other beautiful places ARE Argentina, and we should feel proud of that instead of making those comments in a derogatory way. Well, maybe I am a little euphoric because every time I go on a trip I am amazed at these beautiful landscapes 😃. On this occasion, I want to show you a little about another point of view around Lake Lácar in Neuquén province: it is Catritre beach, a very popular place for tourists who vacation in this area ❤️.
Debo confesar que un poco me molesta cuando algunos dicen "este lugar es tan hermoso que no parece Argentina". Si gente, este y muchísimos otros lugares preciosos SON Argentina, y deberíamos sentirnos orgullosos de eso en lugar de hacer esos comentarios de forma despectiva. Bueno, quizás estoy un poco eufórica porque cada vez que voy de viaje me quedo maravillada con estos paisajes tan preciosos 😃. En esta ocasión, quiero mostrarles un poco sobre otro punto de vista alrededor del Lago Lácar en la provincia de Neuquén: se trata de la playa Catritre, una muy concurrida por los turistas que vacionan en esta zona ❤️.
Lake Lácar is so vast and majestic that wherever you look at it, it surprises you. On its shores there are several points where you can go down and spend the day, always with the proper precaution that must be taken in these icy and deep waters. To get to this beach, from the San Martín de los Andes center it only takes a little more than 10 minutes by car, but many people also walk along the side of the road on this route.
El lago Lácar es tan inmeso y majestuoso que desde cualquier lado que lo mires te sorprende. En sus orillas hay varios puntos en donde puedes bajar y pasar el día, siempre con la adecuada precaución que hay que tener en estas aguas heladas y profundas. Para llegar a esta playa, desde el centro de San Martín de los Andes solo tardamos un poco más de 10 minutos en auto pero mucha gente también hacia este trayecto caminando por el costado de la ruta.

This place is part of a private campsite just like Camping Lolen, but there is always the option of spending the day. In this entire area of San Martín there is a lot of controversy with this, since there are several private areas that take the descents to the lake, leaving almost no place for the public and for everything you have to pay a fee. This time, we passed by and no one told us anything, so I suppose that in this particular campsite access to the beach was free 😅.
Este lugar forma parte de un camping privado al igual que el Camping Lolen, pero siempre está la opción de ir a pasar el día. En toda esta área de San Martín hay mucha controversia con esto, ya que hay varias zonas privadas que toman las bajadas al lago, dejando casi sin lugar a lo público y para todo hay que pagar una tarifa. Esta vez, nosotros pasamos y nadie nos dijo nada así que supongo que en este camping en particular el acceso a la playa era libre 😅.
When we arrived around 2PM the beach was already quite busy. We suspected it anyway because there were a lot of cars in the parking lot, in addition to the people who camp there. Since we didn't have an umbrella, it was necessary to find some shade under a tree, but almost all of them were already occupied in that part, so we had to walk about 200 m to find something.
Cuando llegamos alrededor de las 2PM la playa ya estaba bastante concurrida. Igual lo sospechábamos porque en el estacionamiento había gran cantidad de autos, sumado a la propia gente que acampa allí. Como no teníamos sombrilla era necesario encontrar alguna sombra debajo de un árbol, pero ya casi todas estaban ocupadas en esa parte así que tuvimos que caminar como 200 m para encontrar algo.
If we had planned to have a few days with perfect weather, surely it would not work out for us. Luckily for us, the temperature always rose to almost 30°C, a bit hot to be in the sun, but on this beach we managed to find a green space with a beautiful tree to protect us from the heat. Twice we went to this beach, and both times we found the same shade free under this tree 😅. There we finally had our lunch, of course following the rules of returning with all our waste.
Si hubiesemos planeado tener unos días con clima perfecto, seguro no nos salía. Para nuestra suerte, la temperatura siempre ascendía hasta casi 30°C, un poco caluroso para estar en el sol pero en esta playa supimos encontrar un espacio verde con un lindo árbol para protegernos del calor. Dos veces fuimos a esta playa, y las dos veces encontramos libre la misma sombra abajo de este árbol 😅. Allí finalmente tomamos nuestro almuerzo, por supuesto siguiendo las normas de regresar con todos nuestros residuos.
The good thing about getting so far away from the main descent was that there weren't so many people crowded in that part and we had a lot of free space for us. And they will wonder why if it was like 30°C there were no people in the water, and well, it is because that water was really frozen hahaha. It literally comes from the thaw, so the brave just jump in for a bit and come out 😂.
Lo bueno de habernos alejado tanto de la bajada principal fue que en esa parte ya no había tanta gente amontonada y teníamos un gran espacio libre para nosotros. Y se preguntaran por qué si hacía como 30°C no había gente en el agua, y bueno, es porque esa agua estaba de verdad congelada jajaja. Literalmente viene del deshielo, por lo que los valientes solo se meten un rato y salen 😂.
In my opinion, the best view of all was to our left. There stood an immense mountain of rock that made you feel insignificant haha. It was mesmerizing and since the sun was shining, it looked super sharp despite being so tall. I was wondering if anyone has ever made it to the top because it seems pretty inaccessible actually.
En mi opinión, la mejor vista de todas la teníamos a nuestra izquierda. Allí se alzaba una inmensa montaña de roca que te hacía sentir insignificante jaja. Era hipnotizante y como el sol estaba radiante, se veía super nítida a pesar de ser tan alta. Me preguntaba si alguien alguna vez habrá llegado a la cima porque parece bastante inaccesible en realidad.
Regarding the water, of course this day I also went into the lake, just for the fact of being there and because I had to. I'm so cold that I can't tolerate cold water, but come on, I wasn't going to lose sight of that crystal clear water. It took me a while to work up the courage to dive in, and when I was there I saw an ORANGE CRAB that scared me and I immediately jumped out of the water hahahaha. In this case, the fact that the water is so crystal clear played against me 😅.
Con respecto al agua, por supuesto este día también me metí al lago, solo por el hecho de estar allá y porque tenía que hacerlo. Soy tan friolenta que el agua helada no la tolero, pero vamos, no me iba a perder de la vista desde esa agua tan cristalina. Me tomó un rato juntar coraje como para zambullirme, y cuando estaba allí vi un CANGREJO NARANJA que me asustó e inmediatamente salí del agua jajajaja. En este caso, que el agua sea tan cristalina me jugó en contra 😀.
We spent a great afternoon there, and of course, I took my great partner with me. This mate is literally traveling all over the country, soon I have to make a post about him and all the places he visited. Originally from Córdoba, this time he traveled more than 1,800 km to be there ❤️.
Pasamos una gran tarde allí, y por supuesto, llevé conmigo a mi gran compañero. Este mate literalmente se está recorriendo todo el país, pronto tengo que hacer una publicación de él solo y todos los lugares que visitó. Oriundo de Córdoba, esta vez viajó más de 1800 km para estar ahí ❤️.
This landscape was all beautiful and the weather accompanied it. We were very lucky to have had all those precious days, literally not a drop of rain came through. In the photos it looks nice, but in reality it is still beautiful, and I am happy that all this is Argentina. And believe it because it is so ❤️.
Este paisaje era todo hermoso y el clima lo acompañaba. Fuimos muy afortunados de que nos hayan tocados todos esos días preciosos, literalmente ni una gota de lluvia se asomó. En las fotos se ve lindo, pero en la realidad es aún hermoso, y estoy feliz de que todo esto sea Argentina. Y créanlo porque es así ❤️.
