And 11 days went by since my last post without me even realizing it.
So, I mentioned in my last posts that I had some hectic days. And that's still true now. But the good thing is, that I did make a good planner for myself now; so my life has gone from chaotic back to more orderly and as a result I can now write every day again.
It's crazy, but when my life is disorderly, it seems disorderly in my head as well and that results in the fact that I can sometimes sit behind my laptop for a very long time without any words coming to mind.
But here I am again. Family is good, my friends are (hopefully) all okay, things at the University are okay, my love life is shitty but who cares 😂, I'm healthy and well. 💙
Of course I am still worried about the situation in Ukraine and I still pray that all the misery will end soon.❤️
In Suriname, the economic situation seems to keep getting worse. In the past people robbed each other of gold, money and other expensive things. Nowadays you read in the news that robbers even steal chickens and fish from freezers. It's very sad.
A few days ago, a 16-year-old student told me about a case at her school: the dean had caught a boy taking leftovers from a sandwich out of a dustbin to eat it. This was a classmate of hers, who doesn't get any food or money from home and so has to stay hungry all day.
When he couldn't hold out anymore, he secretly looked for food in the dustbin. The dean with his good heart, forbade the boy to eat it and bought a sandwich for the boy himself.
My heart broke hearing the story. I'm sure there are more kids that live like that. I hope we can get out of the bad economic situation soon and give our children, whom we call our future, a better life. Not only in Suriname, but in every corner of the world.
My message for today: if you have already eaten today, be thankful. Be grateful.
Grateful that you have it; for there are many who do not.
