Hello friends of Hive and NeedleWorkMonday ❣️. I hope you are very well today 😊. After several days without writing a long post, I reappear, thanks to the fact that we got an accommodation with a good Internet signal, something that hardly happened during all this time traveling 😅. As always, I try to rest from the routine on these walks, but my brain always thinks and thinks and comes up with ideas and projects to share with our beloved community. That is why today I want to show you this simple project but it took me about 3 days to complete: surely if I had brought my machine to the trip I would have done it in 5 minutes 😂.
Hola amigos de Hive y NeedleWorkMonday ❣️. Espero que se encuentren muy bien hoy 😊. Después de vaaarios días sin escribir un post largo vuelvo a aparecer, gracias a que conseguimos un alojamiento con buena señal de Internet, cosa que casi no sucedió durante todo este tiempo viajando 😅. Como siempre, intento descansar de la rutina en estos paseos, pero mi cerebro siempre piensa y piensa y se le ocurren ideas y proyectos para compartir con nuestra querida comunidad. Es por eso que hoy quiero mostrarles este proyecto sencillo pero que tardé como 3 días en completar: seguramente si hubiese traído mi máquina al viaje lo hubiese hecho en 5 minutos 😂.
My aunt, cousins and I undertook a dream trip through the south of Argentina. This is something that I wanted to do for a long time because this area is beautiful and it is also part of my traveling dream, which is to visit at least one place in the 23 provinces of Argentina. In all these days we passed through 4 provinces: La Pampa, Neuquén, Río Negro and Chubut. We are currently in a place called El Bolsón in Río Negro, but from here we go everywhere by car ❣️.
Mi tía, primos y yo emprendimos un viaje soñado por el sur de Argentina. Esto es algo que yo quería hacer hace muchísimo tiempo porque esta zona es hermosa y además es parte de mi sueño viajero que es conocer al menos un lugar de las 23 provincias de Argentina. En todos estos días pasamos por 4 provincias: La Pampa,Neuquén, Río Negro y Chubut. Actualmente estamos en un lugar llamado El Bolsón en Río Negro, pero desde aca vamos a todos lados en auto ❣️.

On all these days we take advantage of the sun to go for a walk and spend the afternoons on the different coasts of the lakes in this area. These places are really beautiful and it is worth spending the whole day there, but this implies transporting all the necessary things for our rest stay. Well guess who is the great carrier of all pots 😂.
En todos estos días aprovechamos el sol para ir a pasear y pasar las tardes a las distintas costas que tienen los lagos de esta zona. Estos lugares son de verdad preciosos y vale la pena pasar todo el día allí, pero esto implica transportar todas las cosas necesarias para nuestra estadía de descanso. Bien, adivinen quién es la gran transportista de todos los cacharros 😂.

It was while walking and walking with this big bag crushing my shoulder that I had the bright idea that it would be better if I had a backpack that distributes the weight better. Of course I'd rather spend on rides than buy a new backpack right now, so I thought I'd better make a new one out of the same bag. But my dear Homer is my shopping bag in my house, so I decided to find a new one specifically for this project 😅.
Mientras caminaba y caminaba con esta gran bolsa aplastandome el hombro fue que tuve la brillante idea de que sería mejor si tuviera una mochila que distribuya mejor el peso. Por supuesto prefiero gastar en paseos antes que comprarme una mochila nueva justo ahora, así que pensé que sería mejor hacer una nueva aprovechando la misma bolsa. Pero mi querido Homero es mi bolsa de las compras en mi casa, así que decidí buscar una nueva específicamente para este proyecto 😅.
When this happened we were in a city in Neuquén called San Martín de los Andes. This place is built on the shore of a lake but it is quite a large settlement, so it was not difficult for me to get the bag, needle, threads and cord that I needed for my project. Of course, I had to walk a long way to find a haberdashery because there was only one open in the whole area. I bought the bag in a large market there: almost by accident it has some letters that say Patagonia Argentina, which will leave me with a nice memory of this whole walk ❣️.
Cuando pasó esto estabamos en una ciudad de Neuquén llamada San Martín de los Andes. Este lugar está construido a orillas de un lago pero es un asentamiento bastante grande, por lo que no me resultó difícil conseguir la bolsa, aguja, hilos y el cordón que necesitaba para mi proyecto. Eso sí, tuve que caminar bastante hasta encontrar una mercería porque solo había una abierta en toda la zona. La bolsa la compré en un mercado grande de allí: casi sin querer tiene unas letras que dicen Patagonia Argentina, lo que me dejará un lindo recuerdo de todo este paseo ❣️.
By the time I had time to sew the bag, we had already moved to another town in Río Negro called Colonia Suiza. In this place there is a nice beach on the shores of the lake where you could spend the afternoon, which seemed like a good location to take photos for my project. The only problem was that I had to hurry so the sun wouldn't go down 😂.
Para cuando tuve tiempo de coser la bolsa, ya nos habíamos cambiado de alojamiento a oootro pueblo de Río Negro llamado Colonia Suiza. En este lugar hay una linda playa a orillas del lago en donde se podía pasar la tarde, la cual me pareció una buena ubicación para tomar las fotos para mi proyecto. El único problema era que tuve que apurarme para que el sol no se escondiera 😂.
Making this project was very easy: the only problem is that I didn't have scissors so I had to cut with a knife, but luckily the material of the bag is stiff. What I did was remove the handles and patiently made a hem where the cord would later pass. I tried to sew it as straight as I could but failed a bit 😅. Impossible to concentrate with that beautiful landscape in the background ❣️.
Hacer este proyecto fue muy sencillo: el único problema es que no tenía tijera así que tuve que cortar con un cuchillo, pero por suerte el material de la bolsa es rígido. Lo que hice fue retirar las manijas y pacientemente hice un dobladillo por donde luego debía pasar el cordón. Intenté coserlo lo más recto que pude pero fallé un poco 😅. Imposible concentrarse con ese lindo paisaje de fondo ❣️.
With the strips that I took out before, I made the pins to pass the handles of the backpack. I had to do this part very carefully because there were 5 layers of fabric between the hems that I made and if the needle broke I would not be able to finish the project. In that town there was really nothing to buy, it was quite far from everything.
Con las tiras que le saqué antes hice los pasadores para pasar las manijas de la mochila. Esta parte la tuve que hacer con mucho cuidado porque eran 5 capas de tela entre los dobladillos que hice y si se rompía la aguja no iba a poder terminar el proyecto. En ese pueblo sí que no había nada para comprar, era bastante alejado de todo.
Finally, it remained to pass the cord through the hem and tie it to the handle. Of course I didn't think I'd need a safety pin so I made it with A BRANCH lol. Amazing but it worked. And the project would have ended there if it hadn't been BECAUSE THE HANDLES WERE SUPER SHORT 😂😂😂. I terribly underestimated the amount of cord needed so that day my project ended up there.
Por último, quedaba pasar el cordón por el dobladillo y atarlo a la manija. Por supuesto que no pensé en que necesitaría un alfiler de gancho, así que lo hice con UNA RAMA jajaja. Increíble pero funcionó. Y el proyecto hubiese terminado ahí si no hubiese sido PORQUE LAS MANIJAS ME QUEDARON SUPER CORTAS 😂😂😂. Pésimamente subestimé la cantidad de cordón necesaria así que ese día mi proyecto llegó hasta ahí.
Well, just yesterday we left that town and came to another city called El Bolsón, also in Río Negro. Luckily here is also an area with more businesses so I was able to get more cord to finish my project. In the end, something so simple took me a lot of time 😂😂.
Bien, recién ayer nos fuimos de ese pueblo y vinimos a otra ciudad llamada El Bolsón, también en Río Negro. Por suerte acá también es una zona con más negocios así que pude conseguir más cordón para terminar mi proyecto. Al final, algo tan simple me tomó un montón de tiempo 😂😂.
In total I spent about 4 meters of cord, I didn't know I was going to need so much. At the beginning I had only bought 2 meters, no wonder it wasn't enough for me, but luckily you can get exactly the same one I bought in San Martín ❣️.
En total gasté como 4 metros de cordón, no sabía que iba a necesitar tanto. Al inicio solo había comprado 2 metros, con razón no me alcanzó para nada, pero por suerte puede conseguir exactamente el mismo que compré en San Martín ❣️.
And that's how my dear backpack was left, which traveled 3 places to be able to be finished 😅❣️. Now my shoulders will be able to rest and it will be more comfortable to carry everything I need for a nice day walking ❤️.
Y así quedó mi querida mochila, que se recorrió 3 lugares para poder ser terminada 😅❣️. Ahora mis hombros van a poder descansar y va a ser más cómodo llevar todo lo que necesito para un lindo día paseando ❤️.
For now we stay a few more days traveling around this area (we still have some money left 😅) and by the time I get back I have a lot of beautiful photos to share with you. I had fun doing this project, I really missed writing for the blog and sewing too. Surely when I get home I'll give my little backpack a sew by machine, but in the meantime it's doing its job very well ❤️.
Por ahora nos quedamos algunos días más viajando por esta zona (aún nos queda algo de dinero 😅) y para cuando vuelva tengo un montón de fotos hermosas para compartir con ustedes. Me divertí haciendo este proyecto, realmente extrañaba escribir para el blog y coser también. Seguramente cuando vuelva a casa le dé una pasada de máquina a mi mochilita, pero mientras tanto está cumpliendo muy bien su función ❤️.
