Yesterday when I came home from work, I walked right up on this little dude collecting leaves. He was on my deck, and for a moment we stood still, perhaps like two mortals locked in an epic battle until judgement day and trumpets sound…or perhaps something less dramatic.
As we prepared to part ways, he climbed into one of my favorite ancestors, this tree that watches over our front yard.
And then, wildly enough, I was able to switch my camera over to video mode just in time to catch him passing overhead! …the hardest part was editing the footage down to a gif small enough to upload here :)
…but the thing that remains open, and what I’m hopi g some clever Hivean will be able to answer for me, I’d how exactly does he plan to use these leaves? I assume he will make bedding or a home or something, but is more known about squirrels and their use of materials to build things for themselves?
