Woooooh! It's Friday already. Time to submit the week one's report for the Dreemport Challenge. And Here 👇 is the checklist telling about my performance on the daily goals.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5….. Yaaay. I did all the task consecutively for five days. It's a good start, isn't it? Though there were times when I felt me unwilling to do one or two of them, yet the teem power motivated me maintain the consistency. It's the blessing to be in a motivating and inspiring group…
Here is the detail of my tasks on the list.
Drinking 32oz of water
It was something that I didn't have to struggle for. 1 liter water is not a big deal. The weather is dry here which increases the thirst and so the water intake. However, being in the challenge made me more conscious about the water intake. Before being in the challenge I often missed the thirst signals and kept busy in my chores. Since I joined the challenge, I assured to drink the adequate amount.
5 Minutes of Breathing/Praying
Praying is an important element to bring peace in our lives. I had been missing on focused praying. It has been happening to me that I pray and there is a bombardment of thoughts that kept me unfocused.
Since I have taken part in the challenge, I am waking up a little earlier in the morning. After the morning prayer, I tried to be more focused in praying. It worked well 3 days while in two days I couldn't focus on the pray element, so I did breathing exercise to attain some relaxation
20 Minutes of Physical Activity
Though I don't lack on physical activity in my daily routine. The home chores and my kids keep me on my toes. However, a particular activity for a particular period of time has another level of importance. It helps us build consistency, regularity, punctuality and sense of control with increased focus.
I chose to walk simply . Hehe, Starting simpler is better 😃. After sending my son to school I went downstairs to the courtyard and did the walk. Walking continuously for 20 minutes gives pain to my feet and lower legs. But, no problem. It was expected.
Nevertheless, I won't continue with the walk in the next week. I would rather go for some exercise especially dedicated to overcome the bulging belly, hips and thighs. For the last couple of years these parts of my body are getting heavier and I am going to use the opportunity by Dreemport challenge to get rid of this issue. The walk in the first week has settled my momentum which I will utilize for further exercise.
15 Minutes of Personal Goal
Mmmmmm. This is something I am feeling I didn't make an apt selection for the challenge. However, it was a goal I had been procrastinating doing, and finally I made it. What is it….? It is a motherly thing…… Telling stories to my kids 😅.
We have been in a digital era now where I think we are lacking on some simple and durable pleasures. I remember my childhood… I was so fond of listening to stories. My mom and my grandma told us those stories. When I started reading, I used to buy small books of stories from my pocket money. My sons are also very fond of listening to stories. Especially the elder one often insisted on telling a story at the nap time. I, so occupied with my offline chores and online to-dos often denied. However, there had been a regret in my heart that I am depriving them of something they deserve. (I am not sure how my reader think about this perspective, yet it has been my feeling). There is a lot the media offers, but reading or listening the stories from the books have their unique effects. As @bluemoon has stated in his post As you get older, regrets also come
the decades of reading and the joy brought by a good book have remained forever in my memory and are a permanent nostalgia.
So, since this week's Monday I am reading stories to my kids and they are happy for this. For now, I have read them stories from my son's text books because there are good moral stories. I don't want to tell them any random stories but some good ones that would facilitate inculcating positive behaviors and attitudes among them.
For the next week, I have decided to add another 15 minutes goal to the list dedicated to increase my progress on my talent…. What talent????? The details are in the answer for this week's question i.e.
What goal/ gift/ability/talent have you been procrastinating on developing? Tell us when you discovered this ability, and how you plan to grow this year (specifically the next 6 weeks).
My goal for this year is to grow myself as blogger and groom me as a writer. Writing has been my passion since ever. How far I can look back into my memory, I see a writer in me. As a young child of 7 or 8 years, I used to write on various topic. Of course , those were the childish write ups.
As a teenager I started doing creative writing and poetry composition. However, most of the elements were restrained to my personal diary. I always had a dream of publishing a book.
Writing has been my passion doesn't mean that writing had been an easier task for me. The writings that are for my own self is another thing, however, the writings that are supposed to be read by others took me too long to complete them. When I started my blogging journey in 2020, I published posts less often. I kept on discarding topics after topics and ideas after ideas to write only on the best ones. The situation carried on for more than an year.
Thanks to @sofs-su, @dreemsteem, Hive and its wonderful communities especially @wearealive helped me coming out of my shell and gave me a series of topics I can write on. Nevertheless, we all know, social media blogging is not just about writing alone. It is also about making connections and providing engagement. It is about being active with your fellows. So, these are the aspects I have to work on. During this week, I have publishedmade it sure to publish one post a day despite being . Including this one, there are five posts from Monday to Friday. Moreover, there is also an increase in the number of comments I did this week.
Look at the chart from 28th Feb to 4th March, it shows that I commented more.
On 3rd March there was no network more than half of the day, yet there is still engagement in the chart (Wait. Let me pat on my back for this 😎. Hehe)
Here is another chart that depicts an increase in engagement on my own posts.
Besides posting and engaging, there is something I need to work on; and that is my language. Being in a global community, English language is the medium that facilitates our communication. The better we are at the language, the better we can communicate. At times I have difficulty understanding others write up. At times I have difficulty writing in the apt expression. To overcome these difficulties there is a need for improvement in vocabulary and sentence structures. For this purpose, my next week would have an additional 15 minutes goal.
I think it's all for today. The time in my clock is 2:21 A.M. If it were a normal day I would have slept. I am awaken to write this post as the @dreemport has motivated me to do so.
Long Live my lovely Dreemport Family........ ❤❤❤❤❤
