Easy lentil soup

Hello beautiful foodies! Lentil soup is one of the easiest and simplest to do dish, and a staple food in our household. There are different types of lentils and the ways to cook it.

Today I am going to share, how I cook my lentils. Beforehand, I would like to thank @justinParke @riverflows and to all the team of #naturalmedicine for this beautiful chance that we are able to share and learn different foods in the world.

Ingredients:

Lentils
Sweet potatoes (depends how many you put
Tomatoes 2pcs. Med.
Onion 1pc.
Green Chile 2pcs.

For tempering

Coarse Cumin seeds 1/2 tspn
Garlic 3-4 pcs.
Dried chili 3 pcs.
Curry leaves 1sprig

Methods.

Wash lentils and bring to boil. Cook till soft.

Add in turmeric powder.

Add in onion and tomatoes.

Put to lid. Cook tomatoes and onions for 5 Min.

The tomatoes are cooked. Add in sweet potatoes.

I often add sweet potatoes for extra sweetness in my lentils.

Add in green chili and salt. Put to lid cook sweet potatoes till soft.

Mean, heat oil in a pan, splutter cumin seeds, dried chili, curry leaves & garlic fry for 2min. In low fire.

Pour in tempered seasonings to lentil.
Stir, Simmer for few minutes.

Add in coriander leaves. Stir. Then switch off flame.

And your lentil soup is ready.
