A Fictional Freewrite: Community Garden

I've had several people ask me if my last fictional freewrite (Cold Person) was going to be part of an ongoing story. I hadn't thought of it, but I like the idea. So, yes. This is part two.

Five Minute Freewrite organised by @mariannewest. Today's prompt: Community Garden

Day 20: We're still excavating, though I'm not sure that one really "excavates" ice. I think we're more carving it. We've placed the remarkably well preserved corpse on ice (hahahaha!) until we can figure out what to do with it. I swear, if it comes to life I'm going scream like a little girl.

Day 22: It still cold. The coffee is cold. The food is cold. The campfire is cold.

Day 25: And not only is it cold, we're getting bored. My colleague - Lisa - sent an email off to the organisers back in Florida asking for a new shipment of goods including some games. They suggested we plant a community garden. WTF? Are they smoking crack? Do they not realise that we're on what must be only a block of ice?

At least the corpse is still a corpse.

Day 29: Well, we started a garden. More precisely, we started to carve a garden. Ice lends itself well to being carved. I was able to carve a zuchinni. Lisa says it looks like something other than a zuchinni, but I don't know what she could be referring to. She's reading over my shoulder, too, and tells me I've spelled zuchinni incorrectly.
