It is bloom time for the Trumpet trees again. This was a fortnight ago, actually. Didn't get around to posting it until now. It would seem that they bloom twice a year. Once in April and once in October – if my memory serves right. I will let you know if I were wrong.
There seems to be quite a few varieties, and species of Trumpet trees – Trumpet trees being a common name, while their proper name is “Tabebuia”. Click here for more information on the trumpet tree.
There are quite a few Trumpet trees all over the island of Singapore. These, in the pictures were along my walking path, beside a canal. At the height of its bloom, the trees are covered with flowers. When there’s a breeze, you see flowers twirling, spiraling down, one after another. Quite a sight to behold.
The ground is mattered with pink and white flowers. Seeing these beautiful sights give one’s spirits a lift immediately.
Unfortunately, the flowers last about two days only, and the blooming season lasts for about five days. All too soon it is over - till the next blooming season. Oh well, nothing lasts forever, but they were very nice while it lasted. And I look forward to the next bloom.
I noticed there were a few very young trumpet trees. The path is going to be even more beautiful when they bloom.
The quality of the pictures is not very good. The phone camera has its limits.
