For as long as I have lived in the suburbs, Weldon Spring City Park has been a place I can count on to bring me inner peace and happy memories.

I used to walk the path while I'd talk for hours on my cellphone with my father who at the time was bedridden and dying from cancer. It also was a favorite place where my beloved dog, Sasha, and I had many happy years of "walkies" before she died earlier this year. And my son spent countless hours having fun at the park playground after school and on weekends when he was a little boy.

An old tree above didn't survive the harsh winter while a young sapling was planted in memory of someone's loved ones.
