Taichung Shiyakusho 台中市役所

Taichung Shiyakusho was built in 1911 during the Japanese colonial days. The first Japanese mayor of Taichung was sworn in at this building, so it can be said that the Shiyakusho witnessed the birth of Taichung city.

Today this is a historical preserved building and has been converted to a cafe on the ground floor and exhibition on the first floor. My favourite part is the wooden beam structures on the second floor ceiling, I find it very fascinating. Hope you enjoy the tour of the building.

台中市役所建於1911年日治時期，當年台中市第一任市長在這裏宣誓就職，所以這裡可以說是見證台中市的誕生。 今天台中市役所已成為一個歷史古蹟，結合餐飲文化的景點。 地下已改建成為一家名為1911的餐廳， 而樓上用作展覽場地。 我個人較喜歡到二樓欣賞當時的建築風格，尤其用木建的屋頂結構。 感覺在高高的屋頂切了一個很漂亮的積木。
