Muchas son las personas que creen que el tema Sentir Zuliano es un tema de Ricardo Aguirre y lo relacionan con muchas de sus composiciones, nada más lejos de la verdad. Este tema se ha convertido a través del tiempo como otro himno del zuliano junto a la ya famosa Grey Zuliana y Maracaibo Marginada.

Fue por allá en el año 1971 que graba con el Conjunto “Los Caracuchos” su tema “Sentir Zuliano” y haciendo honor a la verdad esta pasa casi desapercibida ya que es el siguiente año 1972 cuando es grabada por Los Cardenales del Éxito en la voz del afamado solista Ricardo Cepeda, versión esta que se hace popular y reconocida en todo el país.

¿Sabían qué? El nombre original del tema fue *Nostalgia de un Zuliano, pero fue registrada por su autor y compositor como Sentir Zuliano.
