Monday morning I had a delivery on the way to work which took me a very different way in, it made it a longer journey so I have speeded this up 8x so it's not so long to watch! We head out to Odsal where turning left would take us to Bradford, but we go right which takes you to Brighouse and Then Huddersfield. I cut out the actual delivery stop to keep it flowing, we then reach Hell Fire Crossroads to turn right - why Hell Fire Crossroads? It is where the main A58 road from the M62 Motorway to Halifax and beyond crosses the A641 Huddersfield to Bradford road - both are very busy roads and the traffic lights here are notorious for accidents - mostly people turning across traffic expecting someone to stop when the light is Amber. From here it is a straight run along the A58 into Halifax.
On this map I went to the roundabout just below Wibsey, and then down - Hell Fire Cross Roads has the Wyke Lion Restaurant on it's corner hence the marker - and then across to Halifax. Normally I go Queensbury to Boothtown and then Halifax - which might seem an odd route as the A6036 Shelf to Northowram and then Halifax route is shorter - trouble is it has to join the busy A58 at a set of lights just before Halifax - the A58 traffic always queues across the lights blocking joining traffic so you can be stuck a good half hour there. It takes twenty minutes the Queensbury route because it has much lighter traffic. I do go home the A6036 way as you see on my vlogs - because the same set of lights do not have the same problem in the opposite direction.
