Moody

Her mother knew what she could do.

The first time she got herself in trouble she came to her help too.
Should she ask her to assist her? She knew it wasn't simple to visit the other worlds. It cost her a lot of energy to see her brother.

She strokes the cat on her bed.

"Why didn't you warn me?"

"Is that why you keep me? I don't think so. You leave again?"

"No, even if I wished I can't. There is something I need to figure out and solve first plus my main task is to keep the books safe."

"What makes them so important? It is just paper and ink. You never read them."

"There is no need to read them, magical books... You don't read them to kill time."

"You kill time?"
The cat suddenly showed excessive interest and jumped off the bed.

"Killing time, " it purred, "whoever thought it was possible to kill time itself. Who knows this is the solution to everything. No time, no.."

"Cat? What did you say?"

But the cat was gone, left through the window.

There were too many compromises to be made.

He even had to change his name and hated that.
He stared into the mirror at the face he should know by now but was still not familiar to him.

"I want to be me again, " he thought, "Moody needs to help me out of here. Sooner or later they will find out who I am or should I say who I am not?"

"What are you doing here, " she asked. She showed up out of nowhere, hadn't expected him back.

"You have to help me. I need to be me again. I need that book."

"You can forget about that. All books are locked, saved, sealed including a spell and who knows what more. I warn you. Leave, or worse will happen to you as being a human. Get out of here bird."

As the majestic cat turned around and jumped out of the window over the stone wall she heard him cry out her name.

"Moody!"

The garden of Eden was her favorite place to relax. She jumped into a tree and took a deep breath. The air was filled with the scent of tangerines. How lucky she was ending up in this world. It was not hers but the woman allowed her to stay. There was no reason to leave or worry as long as she knew nothing and that bird... she would take care of it later.
