Picking up from last time
It has been 1 - 2 months since I was last able to play due to studies and PC problems putting me off gaming for a little bit, but now I am back and slowly installing games as the days pass. My first adventure is taking three level 1 heroes and a level 2 hero in to fight the Inchoate Flesh which was an easier version of it for this run, to level these heroes.
Only one fight before the boss!
A new point in Darkest Dungeon, managing the route of least resistance to get one fight and no need to camp or use too much food, before getting to the Inchoate Flesh which made this trip all the more easier! Sure the treasure is less, but passing to get the epic item is worth it as is the leveling.
Such a simple mob to face but the Doomsayer can cause a lot of stress if left unpunished. It was my main target for the fight but an easy fight it was.
Scouting the Inchoate Flesh
When the scouting that happened found the Inchoate Flesh nearby, I knew I would be having an easy run and would soon be through this dungeon. At first I thought it would be tough to beat but it had shared health for all parts. Not only that, but I massed up the blight on the middle parts in order to chunk that health down all while healing with my Occultist, doing some damage and just getting through it with mostly ease.
Seeing the scouting show the boss room in the bottom right of the map and peaking my happiness!
Oh look at this thing, it's so hideous and needs to be squished like the blob it is! Quite a bit of health on it but knowing after attacking it a few times that the health is shared, I relaxed and carried on to destroy it. It took quite a bit of health from a few heroes, not getting some good heals would've made the situation a little more dire.
And the final blow to put it out of its misery. Rest in peace Inchoate Flesh and thank you for not destroying me!
Victory rewards and the relaxation afterwards
With the victory secured the heroes were to need a rest, though this time only two did but I forgot to take a screenshot of that screen. But I chucked two in to treat diseases and two others while I have lots of gold. The management of your heroes is really important as you progress, or you will tend to stack the diseases and quirks etc which dictate some actions in the dungeon.
Still a favourite
Anytime I play Darkest Dungeon I feel immense happiness and fun being had, due to how much I enjoy playing the game. From the difficulty, the stress and heart attacks (in game), the design of the artwork, narration throughout the game and everything, I love it. The grind is always the worst part as you have to go through using numerous heroes in case you lose a set, which I have done plenty in the past but worth the grind for one of the best games in my opinion.
