Happy Mid Autumn Festival! Yesterday was the actual day but it was Friday so not many things happened except having a small mooncake to celebrate the occasion and today we went to a small carnival at Chatswood.
First let's check out the mini mooncake we had. In fact, we got a box of custard mooncake, the cold ones as well as the traditional one but we decided to just cut the mini one as it was made by a local bakery called Emperor (皇冠). It was perfect for us for the kids to try. There was a mini yolk inside and lotus paste. Overall it was a nice size after a full dinner. The lotus was moist and perfect sweetness. The yolk though was a bit dry but it was above average, better than what I expected from a local bakery.
Today we headed over to Chatswood and saw a nice small Japanese carnival called the Japan City of Sydney. They had many stands promoting Japanese food and culture, a small stage to show some dance and sports, small areas for kids to participate in carnival games and a truck promoting Innisfree’s cherry blossom range (although it is a Korean skincare brand). The truck was in full pink right in the middle of the action. It was a nice day out for the community in particular the Japanese people and everyone had a great time with the great weather.
大家好，中秋節快樂！其實昨天是中秋節但今天在 Sydney 很多人都是今天慶祝. 昨晚我們一家都有吃月餅，讓小朋友試試因為上年他們年紀比較小就不是很記得什麼是月餅. 我們家有冰皮，奶油月餅，傳統月餅但選了一個傳統月餅迷你給小朋友吃因為吃完飯就吃不下大的月餅. 這個迷你月餅是在當地一家餅家做的 (皇冠). 蓮蓉很好吃，不是很甜但個人覺得蛋黃比較乾, 整體來講其實不錯.
今天我們去Chatswood 剛剛碰到一個活動來宣傳日本的文化. 真是很多人! 他們宣傳日本文化，舞蹈，音樂，食物等等. 真的很熱鬧. 最後看見一家貨車用來宣傳韓國美容品牌 Innisfree 的新櫻花
