Later this month, RM Sotheby's will auction this beautiful 1958 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL for around $US 175,000. Classic car perfection...
History of the Mercedes 190SL Roadster
Presented during the 1954 New York Auto Show, the Mercedes 190 SL, aka W121, was produced between 1955 and 1963. A huge success for Mercedes with about 26,000 examples sold during the production run. That works out to 270 cars every month, with 70% for the American market.
It was an idea of Max Hoffman, US importer of European cars, to have a less expensive model of the six-cylinder 300 SL, its big brother. With the removable hardtop, the price in the 50's was $US 4,295.

Technical specification
The 1,897 cc overhead-camshaft inline four-cylinder engine with twin Solex carburetors delivered 120 hp. Enough to enjoy the ride.
This model was restored by Mercedes specialists Rudi & Company (British Columbia, Canada) with it original color scheme and two-tone red interior. Pure beauty...
