1956 Austin-Healey 100 M

We continue with the Petersen Automotive Museum Auction at Los Angeles, the 8 December. RM Sotheby's will auction this beautiful 1956 Austin-Healey 100 M BN2 Le Mans.

Earlier this year, an Austin Healey 100 S had gone on sale for $ 800,000 by Bonhams without finding a buyer. And this time ?

History of Austin-Healey 100

The Austin-Healey 100 was produced from 1953 until 1956 on the Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals specifications. The model was presented at the 1955 London Motor Show with a design by Gerry Coker and chassis design by Barry Bilbie, only 640 examples.

The 100 was named for its ability to reach 100 mph (160 kmh) thanks to the lighter competition derived aluminium-bodied. This example has the Le Mans Engine Modification Kit for better performance.

Specification

The 100 M BN2 delivers 110 hp at 4,500 rpm thanks to Le Mans Engine Modification Kit. The BN2 offers a real four-speed manual transmission.
