Another great lot during Retromobile in Paris next week... This rare 1940 Fiat 2800 Berlinetta with a coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring (only three examples) will heading to auction through RM Sotheby's for about € 200.000. Piece of history...
History of the Fiat 2800 Berlinetta
The Fiat 2800 was produced by Fiat between 1938 and 1944, 624 examples were built with 210 for military use. Only 3 were bodied by Carrozzeria Touring, Italian automobile coachbuilder founded in Milan in 1925.
This luxury car was bought by the Italian elite like the King Vittorio Emanuele III or the Pope but also by the Partito Nazionale Fascista (Benitio Mussolini). This example could be used in his escape out of Italy in 1945... (Documents on file allude to this, yet none are conclusive.- source RM Sotheby's).

Specification
The Fiat 2800 has a 2,852 cc I6 engine with 4-speed manual producing 84 hp at 4,000 rpm with a top speed of 130 kmh.
This model was restored in black and red colour scheme... Very nice and rare example.
