The day after our snorkeling adventure we decided to move on and go to the next Island: Kho Lanta. But once we got to the harbor we found a lot of people discussing. Turns out that the storm Pabuk hat changed its direction after destroying parts of Kho Samui, and now was on the way to us.

The only boats still going were to Phuket (the place we just came from) and people got scared and fought over the last seats at those ferries. Since in the news they said that its only a tropical storm and not going to be a hurricane we stayed pretty calm and were just happy that we went out snorkeling the day before, because diving and snorkeling was impossible for today.
Nobody knew how long it would take for the storm to hid us, so we couldn't really plan any activity. We decided to have a great breakfast, buy some snacks and water, go check out the beach for a beer and then watch movies at our hostel.

The island got pretty empty, because many people were scared and no more ferries were going to bring more people in. So it was actually pretty nice to enjoy having the island all for ourselves.

I guess the signs at the beach didn't help much to keep the people haha.

In the end it didn't hid us until 22:00hrs and it was just a bit of rain and wind. - Nothing big. But we felt like we lost a whole day by watching "the beach", "narcos" and other Netlix stuff; getting a massage and not doing anything else.
Se when we woke up the next day and they told us that the ferry to Kho Lanta would still not go, we decided to use the day as much as possible to see whats left of the island while it is still so wonderfully empty.

So first after breakfast we went to do some Kayaking and go to Monkey Beach. We were promised to see a lot of cute monkeys and that the beach is beautiful. - So we went for it.

It was still a bit cloudy, but warm and the water looked nice.

What we didn't think about was, that for two days nobody was allowed to go to that beach. The monkey apparently were used to people feeding them... and now they haven't eaten in two days haha so once we got there, they came right at us, jumped on our kayaks and opened our bags to find food in it.

They even stole our water bottle, opened it and drank from it :D

One monkey came right at us, opened Fies bag (that we thought was really good secured), grabbed her wallet and took her money out haha. well we got to him in time and could safe all of it. But that was just hilarious. Fie got robbed by a monkey :D

After we got our stuff secured we still could enjoy the beach, went for a swim and made peace with the monkeys ;)

After that we went back to the beach to have lunch and relax a bit in the sun.

From there we decided to walk up the view point to enjoy a wonderful sunset. The hike was pretty tough but doable, we chose to take the long path through the jungle and discovered another side of the island.

Arriving up there it was just stunning. Somebody played music and we had just an awesome view over the island and both sides of the ocean in different colors.

Back down in the town we had dinner and went straight to the full moon party to make sure we included everything possible on that extra day, stuck on the island. - We had a lot of fun getting a bit drunk (of course), doing all the things kids do today like jumping a rope and limbo and of course dancing ;) - We even rocked the 40cm high one ;)

I have to admit that at first we were pretty devastated that we couldn't go to Kho Lanta already and go on with our trip, but in the end we had a pretty awesome day with many crazy things in it, and I wouldn't want to miss it. So it was just perfect.
As always I hope you enjoyed reading my post and I am grateful for every Upvote, Resteem and Comment, as you are supporting my travels with it!!
