Invited by Mercado Bitcoin's Cryptotalks to speak about my unexpect...

At the beggining of this month I was invited by Lucas Pinsdorf from Mercado Bitcoin, the first Brazilian and Latin American cryptocurrency exchange and still one of the biggest, to talk about being added as a friedn by the Satoshi Nakamoto profile in P2P Foundation network. It was realy amazing to know their office and discuss the recent events in the market with the fintech's professionals in this weekly event called Cryptotalks. Beyond the people on the room the conversation's audio is transmitted by the internal network so the rest of staff could hear it from their desks if they could not interrupt the work.

What I told to them was my personal explanation of what I already wrote here in the post Last Thursday I was accepted in Satoshi Nakamoto's friends list on P2P Foundation network and also published in this article on Chepicap news site: Meet the man who 'became friends with Satoshi Nakamoto' in 2018. I could express myself in my native language, portuguese, what I said in (a kind of) english to Chepicap in this video interview below.

Zen Talks

When asked by Mercado Bitcoin workers if I believe that the person behind the P2P Network profile was the real inventor of Bitcoin I answered that I try not to take my time thinking about it. I remind them what I watched long time ago in a TV documentary that showed a monk saying: for a buddhist it doesn't really matter if Buddha existed or not.

Following that I improvised and adapted another famous zen little story, the one that tells about a very prestigious master who used to meditate hanging only by his teeth, by biting a fig tree root, exposed in the fringe of a cliff. Suddenly, one day came the apprendice flushed and looking for that master (let's imagine he is Satoshi) and as soon as he finds him shout out asking: master, master, what bitcoin is the true bitcoin!?! The master, while started to answer the question, opens his mouth unsticking the teeth from the root and so fall from that high and die flat on the ground.

Of course that in the original story the question wasn't that but - master, master, what's the meaning of life!?! - but as I said that Lucas complained that it was so irrelevant comparing with the question about bitcoins, the last one is muuuuuch more important for sure 😊

BUIDL & DEX

Coming back to the crypto market discussion proposed on the Cryptotalks agenda, we talked about other events of the week, a time called the cryptocurrency winter which darkness and low valuation got lightened with the word of Satoshi's reappearance, in my opinion. We commented about the mobilization around the new tagline BUIDL and the disastrous Coinbase attempt in register it as a trademark. Wendel Smith, who participate in the event all time it last, pointed the new initiatives from Coinbase and also Binance, both giants exchanges, that revealed they will support decentrized exchanges (DEX) projects.

Nour in japanese? What about 野雨露 (nouro)?

I think I talked so much about Satoshi and buddist monks that one of the attendees, also a nikkei (person with japanese descent), was intrigued by the word "nour" posted by Satoshi's profile on the P2P Foundation network. Many people say it means "light" in arabic and farsi/persian and "fire" in hebrew, but he wondered how the word could be written using kanji (ideograms that came from China and are used in japanese language). Using that we would not only read the word but also see it as a draw with a particular visual meaning. I was also curious then I made a quick search in this online dictionary and found these kanji symbols so an eventual combination could be: 野雨露 - reading "nouro" (in the japanese language doesn't exist the sound "r" alone), with the first kanji meaning "field", the second "rain" and the third "dew". Could be only my fertile imagination but, just after the thunder of Satoshi's one word post appearing in the middle of the dark lake of the market in the winter, this calm view of a field and the dew under a drizzle rain in the early morning is really good to appreciate.

Different from the presentations I did at agencies, companies and schools, which I shared posting in portuguese here before - WMcCann, The Corporate Garage, Digital House and Espaço Facens - at Mercado Bitcoin's Cryptotalks I didn't talk about sites and apps using blockchain and cryptocurrencies in content, advertising and social media. Of course that I mentioned Steem blockchain, Steemit and its tokens. But not as much I talked about Bitcoin, after all I was there only because my friendship with Satoshi.

Splitting the Bill

So, at the end of my participation in the event I took the occasion to make it public and very clear: I can be the new Brazilian friend of Satoshi but it doesn't mean that he should pay the entire bill next time we go out to drink. I insist we split the bill so each one can pay his share 🙂
