Announcing: a December Steemit series
I’ve seen beer advent calendars available in prior years, but this is the first time I’ve gotten my hands on one. They sell out fast, and this year the Brewer’s Advent Calendar is filled with imported German beers. The concept of an advent calendar, if you're unfamiliar, is you get a little surprise each day of December leading up to Christmas day.
So today, I'd like to announce a series of upcoming posts. I’ll be sharing each day of the German Brewer's Advent Calendar with you here on Steemit starting on December 1st.
I’ll give you my impressions of the day's beer, tasting notes, and a little background about the area of Germany it came from or the brewery. I’m no professional beer critic, but I have experience all-grain brewing and I enjoy noticing nuances that can be found when tasting beer and wine.
Each day’s beer will be a surprise; that’s the fun of an advent calendar! This series will be a little deviation from my normal content, but I was so excited to get my hands on this collection I thought it would be a fun experience to share on Steemit.
Every year in our house we have a custom advent calendar for the kids. The best part is being able to fill each day with something different: a sweet treat, a note telling what fun activity is planned for the day, or a simple little gift (on the day of this photo it was a micro geocache container). It provides a lot more opportunity for family fun and creating memories than the typical, store bought advent filled with cheap chocolate.
This is the first time I’ve had my own, personal advent calendar since one of those crummy chocolate calendars as a kid. Of course, I loved it as a kid, but now that I'm grown up I know what real chocolate tastes like.
